Huawei 5G Bid Rejected by New Zealand
Huawei phones will not be able to use their 5G connectivity in New Zealand for national security reasons. The country has officially rejected the Chinese 5G bid in the face of New Zealand intelligence agency. Huawei was expected to ensure 5G connectivity with the help of service provided by Spark telecommunication company.
It means that the leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer will not be able to use 5G technology on the territory of the country. The GCSB director-general claimed that using 5G technologies provided by Spark and combined with Huawei 5G equipment could result in increased risks in terms of national digital security.
In other words, Spark has nothing to do but to reject the Huawei proposal of using its RAN (Radio Access Network) necessary for enabling the 5G connectivity.
