Samsung Galaxy S5 (Japan/AU KDDI) SCL23 Firmware Overview
What is the latest SCL23 firmware?
SCL23KDU1DQA4, released January 23, 2017 with Android 6.0.1. It is a feature update on bootloader binary 1. The archive holds 11 official builds across 1 region (CSC). Each one is the full stock ROM (flash file) for Odin, not an OTA patch.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Japan/AU KDDI) still getting updates?
Most likely not: there has been no new firmware since January 2017, so Android 6.0.1 is the last version this model got. The final builds below are still the best choice for a clean reinstall.
Which Android versions did it get?
The SCL23 builds in the archive run Android 4.4.2 to 6.0.1. The earliest build we have for each version:
- Android 6.0.1: SCL23KDU1DPH3 (Aug 2016), 4 builds in total
- Android 5: SCL23KDU1COE7 (May 2015), 3 builds in total
- Android 4.4.2: SCL23KDU1BNG3 (Jul 2014), 3 builds in total
Can I downgrade the SCL23 firmware?
Only to builds with the same bootloader binary (the Bit column) or higher. All decodable builds in the archive share binary 1:
- Binary 1 — since Jul 2014
