Samsung Galaxy A23 5G (SM-A236U) Firmware Overview
What is the latest SM-A236U firmware?
A236USQSHEZI6, released September 17, 2026 with Android 14. It is a security update on bootloader binary 17. The archive holds 47 official builds across 7 regions (CSC).
Is the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G still getting updates?
Yes. The newest build is from September 2026, and 7 of 7 regions already have a build from that month; the rest usually follow within a few weeks.
Can I downgrade the SM-A236U firmware?
Only to builds with the same bootloader binary (the Bit column) or higher. In the archive the binary of this model rose from 11 to 17:
- Binary 17 — since Sep 2026
- Binary 16 — since Aug 2026
- Binary 15 — since May 2026
- Binary 14 — since Mar 2026
- Binary 13 — since Jan 2026
- Binary 12 — since Oct 2025
- Binary 11 — since Jul 2025
A phone already on binary 17 rejects builds with a lower binary in Odin ("SW REV CHECK FAIL"), so it can go back to an earlier Android version only if that version has a binary 17 build. How to read a build number.
