Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935P) Firmware Overview
What is the latest SM-G935P firmware?
G935PVPSBCTA1, released January 21, 2020 with Android 8. It is a security update on bootloader binary 11. The archive holds 20 official builds across 2 regions (CSC). Each one is the full stock ROM (flash file) for Odin, not an OTA patch.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge still getting updates?
Most likely not: there has been no new firmware since January 2020, so Android 8 is the last version this model got. The final builds below are still the best choice for a clean reinstall.
Can I downgrade the SM-G935P firmware?
Only to builds with the same bootloader binary (the Bit column) or higher. In the archive the binary of this model rose from 1 to 11:
- Binary 11 — since Jan 2020
- Binary 10 — since Jun 2019
- Binary 9 — since Feb 2019
- Binary 8 — since Oct 2018
- Binary 7 — since Jul 2018
- Binary 6 — since Apr 2018
- Binary 5 — since Oct 2017
- Binary 4 — since Oct 2016
- Binary 2 — since Mar 2016
- Binary 1 — since Feb 2016
A phone already on binary 11 rejects builds with a lower binary in Odin ("SW REV CHECK FAIL"), so it can go back to an earlier Android version only if that version has a binary 11 build. How to read a build number.
