Samsung SM-T866N Firmware Overview
What is the latest SM-T866N firmware?
T866NKOU5DXJ1, released October 3, 2024 with Android 12. It is a feature update on bootloader binary 5. The archive holds 20 official builds across 1 region (CSC).
Is the Samsung SM-T866N still getting updates?
Most likely not: there has been no new firmware since October 2024, so Android 12 is the last version this model got. The final builds below are still the best choice for a clean reinstall.
Which Android versions did it get?
The SM-T866N builds in the archive run Android 9 to 12. The earliest build we have for each version:
- Android 12: T866NKOU4DVD1 (Apr 2022), 7 builds in total
- Android 11: T866NKOU3CUC1 (Mar 2021), 7 builds in total
- Android 10: T866NKOU2BTF1 (Jun 2020), 5 builds in total
- Android 9: T866NKOU3BTJ2 (Oct 2020), 1 build in total
Can I downgrade the SM-T866N firmware?
Only to builds with the same bootloader binary (the Bit column) or higher. In the archive the binary of this model rose from 2 to 5:
- Binary 5 — since Aug 2023
- Binary 4 — since Sep 2021
- Binary 3 — since Sep 2020
- Binary 2 — since Jun 2020
A phone already on binary 5 rejects builds with a lower binary in Odin ("SW REV CHECK FAIL"), so it can go back to an earlier Android version only if that version has a binary 5 build. How to read a build number.
