Samsung Galaxy M36 5G (SM-M366B) Firmware Overview
What is the latest SM-M366B firmware?
M366BXXS8BZH3, released September 8, 2026 with Android 16. It is a security update on bootloader binary 8. The archive holds 20 official builds across 2 regions (CSC).
Is the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G still getting updates?
Yes. The newest build is from September 2026, and 2 of 2 regions already have a build from that month; the rest usually follow within a few weeks.
Which Android versions did it get?
The SM-M366B builds in the archive run Android 15 to 16. The earliest build we have for each version:
- Android 16: M366BXXU2BYI3 (Sep 2025), 15 builds in total
- Android 15: M366BXXU1AYF1 (Jun 2025), 4 builds in total
Can I downgrade the SM-M366B firmware?
Only to builds with the same bootloader binary (the Bit column) or higher. In the archive the binary of this model rose from 1 to 8:
- Binary 8 — since Aug 2026
- Binary 7 — since Jul 2026
- Binary 6 — since Apr 2026
- Binary 5 — since Feb 2026
- Binary 4 — since Jan 2026
- Binary 3 — since Nov 2025
- Binary 2 — since Aug 2025
- Binary 1 — since Jun 2025
A phone already on binary 8 rejects builds with a lower binary in Odin ("SW REV CHECK FAIL"), so it can go back to an earlier Android version only if that version has a binary 8 build. How to read a build number.
